Finding your way around.

A tour of the Dwell interface: the home page, the account menu, notifications, and the small things that are easy to miss.

The home landing page

After signing in, the Dwell logo takes you to your home page. It's a launchpad with entry cards to the main areas:

You can also open the directory any time from the Resources dropdown or your account menu.

The account menu and your profile

Your avatar in the top-right corner opens the account menu:

Menu itemWhere it takes you
DashboardYour portal — role management, profile editor and links to your complexes and units.
MessagesDirect messaging with other members (see Messages & notifications).
ProfileYour public profile page, which other members see.
Sign outEnds your session and returns you to the holding page.

Manager roles may also have a dedicated operations dashboard — property managers, strata managers and contractors each get one — reachable from the portal or the dashboard card.

The notifications bell

Beside your avatar is the notifications bell. It lights up with an unread count (capped at 9+) when something needs your attention:

The notifications bell open, showing a panel with recent notifications and a mark-all-read button
The notifications panel. Click any item to jump straight to the relevant conversation or page; “Mark all read” clears the badge.

Click the bell to open the panel. Each notification links directly to where the action lives, and you can mark all as read in one click. The panel refreshes when you open it, when new notifications arrive in real time, and when you return to the tab.

“Viewing as” — previewing another role

Near the top of every complex page you'll see Viewing as pills, one per role. Click a pill to preview the page from that role's perspective. This is handy for managers who want to check what tenants or landlords see — and for tenants curious what extra tools managers have. Your actual permissions don't change; it's a lens, not a switch.

Expecting an edit button that's not there?

Check the “Viewing as” pills first — you're probably previewing a read-only role. Switch to your managing role (or your portal) to get the controls back.

The About page

The About page tells the Dwell story — the platform's pillars (financial, maintenance and more) and where it's headed. You'll find it linked from the public pages and the footer area.
